We are hiring a Manager for the HDX Data Lab in Nairobi, Kenya. The Data Lab serves as a front line, in-person service to the HDX platform. We started the Nairobi Lab in 2014 with a focus on providing data services to partners and helping the humanitarian community connect data from across the region.

Since then, we have worked to make open data useful in East Africa, and helped partners like Twaweza visualize its data. We also developed a film about humanitarian data that profiles a number of our partners in Nairobi.
In December 2016, we launched a second Data Lab in Dakar, Senegal. The Dakar and Nairobi teams will both focus on making progress with data sharing, supporting technical system integration, and increasing data use and impact.
The Nairobi Lab is supported by three roles including a Lab Manager, a Data Manager and a Data Scientist (remote support). The Lab Manager also collaborates directly with a team of professionals based around the world.
